« Block number 1 »

Hm, I guess quite a lot has happend since my last blog.

Valentine's was!!!...same as every year so far =p. Spent it preparing for my experiment, actually >.<

The experiment took a lot out of me and the group; we felt that the person in charge was asking a lot of us, by expecting us to have designed, tweaked and finished our data collection within a week. We had to cram it all in on a thursday, and as a result, missed all my lectures! Ah well, no use crying over spilt milk.

Went to my first ever ballet that same thursday night. Was with Mel; she has had experience the night before, watchig swan lake with Mandy and BM. It was hard to understand, because it was just dancing. You had to infer from the props, scenery, some facial expressions and the dancing what was going on! crazy stuff...I saw something called Copellia. Apparently, it's about a toymaker who made a doll, but she ran off and fell in love. Hm, figures. I fell asleep through some of it >.<. Was still a good experience though, maybe next time if I was so knackered, I could give it more attention. Still need someone to teach me why ballet is so good/hard.

Work is kind of piling up again...but that's at the back of my mind really.

Football is ok. Had a bad saturday just gone, haha not played so bad in a while. Really deflating and makes you feel nihilistic in a click. Oh well, time to bounce back up.

Daniel stole £60 off dad's credit card and bought some stupid weapons for his game. As a result, he's now having his computer privileges taken off him, INCLUDING his psp. This is kind of fun...conditioning him into someone/something useful for the future, developing skills and stuff that he can't see the point of now, but will learn to love later. Even if it means the sacrifice of my time and energy and pushing myself. At the moment, I'm playing the hard, big brother role, giving him no room to breathe and pushing things onto him. It's fun, we're getting a small routine going around the house, like tidying up, clothes, dishes, hovering. Hopefully, it'll be a concrete thing and everyone will be able to stick to it. It's about time we got our act together in this house. Stepping on the first stepping stone, together now.

Bible study was awesome. I love Vinny K, he's a radical thinker and tries to move out of the usual zone of reading a passage and discussion, and make it colourful. We looked at Colossians 2:4-7. Only a few verses. However, in this BS, he made the two groups draw out the first 12 verses of Ezekiel 47, which was Ezekiel's account of his vision God gave him. It was a vivid description of a river flowing next to a temple, into a valley, and as it entered the sea, it became fresh and there was an abundance of life of all species of fish, with lush green forests lining both banks of the river. They drew it and Vin said that Col 2:7 reminded him of this Ezekiel passage. The relation was that if we build ourselves up in Christ, which we started off from, then we can actively see things inside of us change, rather than forcing our behaviours and trying to be a better person. Vin is really trying to drill home the message of just how important JC is, which is dam straight! So easy to forget JC's work and what its underlying meaning is, as well as on the surface.

Hm, I have this stupid PSM (personal study module) essay to do. The title is "Discuss how categorisation of Asylum Seekers from political discourse hasinfluenced their representation in the public sector."...Whaaaaat? >.<"
Had a brief chat with Tom not long ago. Still encouraging and pushing each other to strive for God. I'm glad he's safe and doing ok. Ricky's still a shtinky fart and stays up like a crazy person on coke and crack. Louise still shtinks, has a huge swob of cotton eating her arm and has had her hair done recently. Me and Cat are now in our third week of praying for people. God's teaching me how to be accountable, and how to start and pursue a prayer thing. This is so wicked.

Had a mad-ass worship day a few sundays ago. Had to lead in church, then in youth group straight after, then lead the session in youth group. That was awesome though. Can't wait for the next one. ALSO!!! NEEC funds have nearly been finished...we had a crisis like, a few weeks ago. Then two anonymous resources donated like, a stupid amount of money. That was so awesome. God gives us so many reasons to believe that our faith can move mountains. To me, this means that this year's NEEC is his promise to us and that it's going to be WICKED!!! SO cannot wait. I applied as a leader this year. It's all about the youth and showing them who God is, and what JC did, and what they still do in our lives. Yeah maaaaate.

Pancake Day yesterday. Saw Winni's flat. That was so fun. She has a very tidy and cosy place. Her room is sooo neat as well, but not sure if it's just cause a bunch of us came around....hehe =p. Met some of Winni's course mates and flat mates. They were really cool. Jenny and her BF, Danny, were bringing their problems into the flat...and it was domestic violence left, right and centre....keke not really =p. Shezan (?? how do you spell her name??) is really cool too, none of them bullied me whilst I was there...much...=p just kidding. Didn't get to speak to Steph much, she seemed cool though. I learnt how to play Mahjong haha. That was funny. And THEN, seeing as it was pancake day, we made lots and lots of pancakes and then decided to eat so much, that we transmuted from :

to

\/\/\/

These are our babies!!...Winni decided to christen the first one, "Peter the 1st"....*cough*...ask her, I'm just as clueless as you!

Ok. Time to be independant and restrain myself from what I would rather do, which is watch GTO and Jarhead. Gonna review my first PSM and look at a few articles. Then chill out in God's word. mm.

Uni. It'll either make or break you.
